1 Wyoming caucus-goer = 19 California primary voters
What Big Tent Democrat an Obama supporter said: So we are celebrating "democracy" in Wyoming today. The "will of the people?" Not hardly. Another travesty of the Democratic Party. Do you know that if 8,000 voters come out in Wyoming today to select their 13 delegates that means that 615 Wyomingians will be selecting a delegate to our national convention 8000 divided by 13. By contrast, when 4.4 million Californians voted in their primary, they selected 370 delegates, which is to say 1 dele

Wyoming, up there and to the left
At this hour, with almost 80 precincts reporting, Wyoming is another win on Obama’s list at about 60%-40%. 12 delegates at stake. We’re big fans of those rural states up and to the left, not just because Wyoming supports the best candidate but because next-door governor Brian Schweitzer in Montana has stood up to the Bush administration back in its "national security" games. Lots of space, lots of sky, lots of damn good sense. Hide your head, tight, airless little Rhode Island!

Wyoming results
With two small counties both surrounded by Obama territory yet to report, Obama has an 18-point lead in Wyoming. Turnout is an order of magnitude greater than four years ago. Delegates should split 7-5, as expected, leaving the math unchanged. And it looks as if the "kitchen sink" effect is starting to fade, or the pushback is starting to work, but both Gallup and Rasmussen tracking results, which switched from Obama up a few pointsto Clinton up a few points between Friday and Wednesday, are n

And here we go again. One Clinton aide yesterday derided Mr Obama??s victories in "boutique" caucus states rather than the hardscrabble terrain of the rustbelt, saying: "Obama has won the small caucus states with the latte-sipping crowd. They don??t need a president, they need a feeling." Really, why don’t Clinton and McCain get a room already? They’re all using the same arguments. Even if those arguments are so darn stupid. The rust belt is from west to east the states bordering the gre

This is how Fox News reported the situation at the Cheyenne Civic Center: Overwhelming, out of control and lines around the block. Those are all words that have been used to describe turnout. At the Cheyenne Civic Center, they were planning for 500, they got 2000. So, good right? Well, not for everyone. They

Obama’s Wyoming Margin
Be careful when interpreting results: Again, the 59-41 numbers you are seeing after 7 counties have reported are NOT the relevant numbers. The relevant numbers are the number of delegates each county sends to the state convention. Right now Obama has 62.8% of the delegates apportioned to the state convention - not 59%… this is an important distinction that most seem to be missing…
