Casimir Pulaski
Georgia, Chatham County, Savannah ?? The great Polish patriot to whose memory this monument is erected was mortally wounded approximately one-half mile northwest of this spot during the assault by the French and American forces on the British lines around Savannah, October 9, 1779. General Pulaski was struck by a grapeshot as he rode forward, with customary ardor, from where his cavalry was stationed to rally the disorganized Allied columns. The fatal ball which was removed from his thigh by Dr.

Sufjan Stevens State Theatre, 14/01
It’s been awhile since I have had such anticipation about a show. Having read reviews of the first and second nights as well as hearing about how amazing his performances were from other friends I had a high set of expectations about seeing Sufjan Stevens. Sufjan did not disappoint, not just living up to the expectations that I had but delivering an sublime two hour set with three encores. Add to that second row seating with a great view of everything that was happening on stage made it an alm

The BQE and Mr. Stevens
Sorry for the hiatus, but life gets busy. It’s been over a month since I’ve written and it’s been a busy one. Lots of counting money, lots of reading, and lots of Grey’s Anatomy, surprisingly. Last weekend, Jenna and I trained over to NYC for a nice little two day trip filled with being tourists and lusting over the musical stylings of Sufjan Stevens. We, along with Jordan, had the privilege of seeing the world premier of his BQE at BAM and it was magnificent. Pitchfork has a pretty nice write

Sufjan Stevens October 13, 2006 I haven??t heard too much from Sufjan Stevens lately. a top ten or nine list
Richard and I have had a long-standing discussion about our top ten favorite songs, and whether or not it is even possible to come up with a list like this. So much about the music that we a royal "we" like is situational - where we are in our lives, what music is popular, and what things resonate with us. There are songs that you love and could listen to over and over again without getting sick of them, that really don’t mean anything in particular. Or songs that remind you of a person or eve
